Questions to Ask During a Breast Lift Consultation
One of the most essential steps in any patient’s cosmetic surgery journey is meeting with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a pre-surgery consultation. This in-person meeting allows patients to get better acquainted with their plastic surgeon while learning vital information about their respective cosmetic procedure (or procedures). This is certainly the case for prospective breast lift patients.
A breast lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure intended to help women who experience breast sagging. During the procedure, I am able to surgically remove excess skin from the breast area and reposition the remaining tissue. The result is perkier, younger-looking breasts that no longer droop or sag. To help women make the most of their breast lift consultations, here is a list of simple questions that I strongly recommend asking your plastic surgeon:
- Are you board-certified as a plastic surgeon?
- How many years experience do you have performing breast lift surgery?
- Would it make sense to combine my breast lift with either breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery?
- What kind of anesthesia is used during this surgery?
- How much visible scarring will I have following my breast lift?
- Will my breast lift require a hospital stay? If so, where do you have hospital privileges?
- Do you have breast lift before and after pictures from past patients you have worked with?
- Are there any risks or complications associated with this procedure?
- Have you developed any special or unique techniques for performing this procedure?
- How much downtime for recovery will this procedure require?
- What will be the total cost of my breast lift?
This can serve as a great jumping-off point for any breast lift consultation. However, after decades of performing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, I understand that every patient will have their own unique questions, concerns, and curiosities regarding their surgery. That’s why I strongly recommend anyone considering a breast lift to contact me, Dr. Franklyn Elliott, to schedule a consultation today.
