What Can Be Done for My Tubular Breasts?
Tubular breasts (also known sometimes as constricted breasts) is an aesthetic issue that many women are born with. Women with tubular breasts lack tissue in the lower pole of the breast(s), due to how their breasts grew naturally during puberty. Women with tubular breasts may experience irregularly shaped breasts, as well as other issues like breast asymmetry, and a gap between the breasts. While the condition poses no health risk, it can negatively impact how a woman feels about her body. In some cases, having tubular breasts can even make it difficult for mothers to breastfeed. Thankfully, plastic surgery can be incredibly helpful for women seeking a solution for their tubular breast problem.
Although a large number of tubular breast cases go untreated and undiagnosed, many women with this issue have found tremendous relief with the help of breast augmentation surgery. Although this differs from a typical breast augmentation, I have had great success using this procedure for women with tubular breasts. When performing breast augmentation for tubular breasts, the goal is to transfer existing tissue down into the lower pole to help fill out the area lacking in natural volume. An implant is then inserted to help add size and fullness to the overall breast contour. Depending on the specific needs of the patient, this can be done in both breasts or in just one. This is an outpatient procedure, meaning no hospital stay will be required.
