Out of Town Patient Guide
When you have the experience and reputation for patient care that Dr. Elliott has, it’s no wonder that we receive inquiries from prospective patients all over the country. In theory, traveling to undergo a cosmetic or reconstructive surgery procedure will ultimately lead to the same long-term results and satisfaction for patients. However, this travel does add some additional factors to the surgery and recovery process that patients need to prepare for in advance.
The most important things for our out of town patients are making the necessary accommodations to arrive at their procedure easily, recover safely and comfortably, and return home at the appropriate time. This may include flying into Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, renting a car, and finding a nearby hotel for after the procedure has been completed. Additionally, nursing care may be required for some patients. We can offer helpful recommendations for all of these decisions and more during virtual consultation appointments with Dr. Elliott.

Before a virtual plastic surgery consultation can take place, prospective patients will need to fill-out our new patient paperwork and submit photographs of the specific area that they would like to enhance. These materials are highly confidential, will be submitted in a HIPAA compliant manner, and only be used as part of the patient’s private medical record. Once the virtual consultation has concluded, we will discuss scheduling a tentative date for the procedure, pending an in-person consultation in our office. It’s common for out of town patients to schedule this consultation appointment 1-2 days prior to their scheduled surgery.
A follow-up visit to ensure that everything is healing as it should be will be required after plastic surgery. The timing of this follow-up may vary depending on the specific of each patient’s procedure. We will discuss this, including potential available dates for this appointment during the consultation.
