Plastic Surgery for Men

All procedures performed by Dr. Elliott in Atlanta, GA

male-chest-in-white-t-shirtOver the years, plastic surgery has shifted from a curiosity that was seen as primarily for women, to something that is incredibly common for all kinds of people, including men. Today, men make up a higher percentage of annual cosmetic surgery procedures performed in the US than ever before, which is certainly a welcome change. But it’s important for men to find a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience working with male patients in order to achieve the outstanding results they seek and the best-possible plastic surgery experience.

When performing plastic surgery for male patients, I do everything I can to refresh the appearance without sacrificing any of the patient’s more masculine traits or characteristics. The goal in these cases is often to provide subtle tweaks to the appearance to help men look younger and more rejuvenated, not to completely overhaul their look.

Plastic surgery procedures for men that I perform include:

Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery is a very popular way for men to refresh the appearance of their faces. During the procedure, I am able to remove excess skin and small fat deposits from the upper and/or lower eyelids to help address tired-looking eyes. When performing eyelid surgery for a man, it is particularly important to ensure his look is not changed in any way so the features of his eyes remain the same, only refreshed.

Liposuction

Liposuction is the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedure for men. This is due to both its dependability for safely and effectively removing pockets of unwanted fat, as well as its extreme versatility. Liposuction can help male patients remove fat from all over the body, but the more common areas include their back, chest, abdomen, flanks (love handles), and under the neck (double chin).

Gynecomastia Surgery (Male Breast Reduction)

I also perform male breast reduction surgery to help men who experience gynecomastia, a condition caused by an excess growth of glandular tissue in the chest area. Unlike liposuction, male breast reduction is able to treat the root cause of gynecomastia by removing this excess tissue, as well as fat and skin from the area as needed.

Neck Surgery

Some men may benefit from rejuvenating their neck area with plastic surgery. Popular options in this area include the neck lift as well as Z-plasty surgery, a specialized neck lift designed to specifically help male patients by focusing on the jowls and cleanly hiding post-surgical scars.
