How a Facelift & Eyelid Surgery Complement Each Other

Wanting to refresh the look of their face is a common request from my cosmetic surgery patients. Every part of the body will experience signs of aging over time, but since our faces are such a prominent part of our appearance, it’s no wonder why this is such a pressing concern for so many people. And while procedures like facelift and eyelid surgery can often provide outstanding aesthetic results, they can be even more powerful when combined into one combo procedure. Allow me to explain the many benefits of combining a facelift with eyelid surgery.

The effects of natural aging can impact a person’s entire face and certain cosmetic facial procedures are intended to treat specific areas. For example, facelift surgery is specifically designed to address age signs in the lower portion of the face (around the mouth, chin, and neck), whereas eyelid surgery focuses on the areas around the eyes. By combining these two procedures into one session, I am able to provide more comprehensive and thorough rejuvenation for the entire face. This includes reducing wrinkles, removing loose skin, addressing lax facial muscles, and restoring lost volume from the upper and lower portions of their face. Additionally, combining surgeries can help reduce my patient’s overall recovery time and surgical costs when compared to having the procedures performed separately.

What Cosmetic Procedures are In-Demand with Millennials?

“How do we reach millennials?” This is a common question for businesses around the world who seek a way to get their message in front of younger potential customers or patients. However, as I have seen firsthand in recent years, plastic surgeons need not worry about how to find a way to reach younger prospective patients; they have no problem finding us on their own. The popularity of cosmetic procedures among younger people is as high as it’s ever been. To help shed light on this topic, I wanted to share some findings that I found especially helpful from the recent annual statistics collected by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) on common procedures for younger patients.

To help narrow it down, I wanted to specifically focus on patients between the ages of 18-34. Breast augmentation was by far the most commonly performed plastic surgery among patients in this age range with over 104,000 procedures performed last year. That’s nearly twice as many as the second most in-demand procedure, liposuction. One thing I found fascinating is the procedures that are far more common among this age group than any other. For instance, over 45% of all male breast reduction procedures were performed on guys between 18-34. And although facelifts and eyelid surgery are basically nonexistent among these patients, other facial procedures including rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, and ear surgery continue to skyrocket with millennials.
