What Happens During a Breast Augmentation Consultation?
The consultation before a cosmetic surgery procedure can be intimidating for some patients. Ideally, your pre-surgery consultation can provide the perfect opportunity to learn more about your prospective plastic surgeon and the procedure that you are considering. But to get the most out of your consultation, it’s important to come prepared. At the very least, your breast augmentation consultation should help you achieve the two following goals: confirming that your plastic surgeon is qualified and someone you feel comfortable with performing your procedure and establishing realistic expectations for what your breast augmentation can help you achieve.
A consultation is essential before any plastic surgery procedure, but it is especially important before a breast augmentation due to the highly customizable nature of this procedure. What size implants do I need to achieve my goals? What are the differences between the different breast implant materials? Does it make sense for me to combine my breast augmentation with a breast lift? Could fat transfer injections for the breasts be a good option for me? These are just a few of the most common questions that we normally address during a breast implant consultation. But every patient is different and has their own unique questions and concerns. Your consultation is the time to candidly address these issues. We will take time to discuss all your options and determine the best surgical path for you.
