How Fat Transfer Injections for the Face Can Help Patients

No one wants to look old. Unfortunately, developing visible signs of aging like lost facial volume and wrinkles on the face can be unavoidable as we age. These days, patients who seek facial rejuvenation have more options than ever. From cosmetic surgery procedures like facelifts to non-surgical cosmetic treatments like Botox® Cosmetic injections, patients have a wide variety of choices for refreshing their look and treating the common signs of aging.

While the procedures mentioned above can be highly beneficial for patients, I wanted to focus specifically on one of the more unique facial rejuvenation treatments that I perform: fat transfer injections for the face. The fat transfer process begins by using liposuction to remove fat from some area of the patient’s body (typically the abdomen, thighs, or arms). I then take time to purify the fat that is removed so it can be safely re-injected into a specific area of the patient’s face.

Facial fat transfer injections are most common for patients who have lost volume over time from areas like the lips, cheeks, and chin. This treatment can be an excellent way to correct wrinkles and folds on the face, while improving volume and the overall quality of the facial skin. Although some of the injected fat will dissolve over time, the results of your facial fat transfer injections can be very long-lasting.

In the following video, I discuss fat transfer injections for the face and how they can help patients refresh their look:

Fat transfer can provide patients with a safe and effective way to achieve a more vibrant, younger-looking appearance. However, every patient’s needs are different and the best facial rejuvenation procedure for you may depend on your age and the specific results you hope to achieve.
