Plastic Surgery for Millennials: Let’s Talk About the Face

Plastic surgery is just like any other industry. As different factors in our society change, so does the demand among certain groups of patients. Millennial-aged patients are one specific group that has flocked to cosmetic surgery more in the last few years than ever before. Whether this is in response to increased social media usage, shifting norms around plastic surgery, or any other factor, it’s true that I have noticed a larger number of younger patients interested in rejuvenating their appearance with cosmetic surgery here in my office. Today, I wanted to discuss plastic surgery for millennials, specifically facial procedures, and trends I’ve noticed among this patient group.

In my experience, discretion and very subtle, natural-looking results are paramount for any patient, but particularly millennial patients. This is one reason why non-surgical cosmetic injectables like Botox® and facial fillers are very in-demand among younger patients in general. However, certain cosmetic surgery procedures can also be incredibly helpful in this regard. Eyelid surgery can help refresh the appearance of the eyes by removing excess skin from the eyelids or the appearance of bags underneath the eyes. Additionally, fat transfer injections can provide an outstanding, long-lasting alternative to other cosmetic injectable treatments. Both of these procedures can be performed as an out-patient procedure under local anesthesia.

In the video below, I discuss these procedures as well as other popular facial treatments that I often perform for younger patients:

Regardless of your age, nobody wants to look old before their time. That’s why I have been so encouraged to see so many younger patients take advantage of the cosmetic tools at their disposal in recent years.
