Tips For Recovering After Cosmetic Breast Surgery
Recovery after plastic surgery is one of the most significant parts of the process. Doing so will promote the best long-term plastic surgery results as well. With this in mind, I wanted to discuss recovery after cosmetic breast surgery and offer a few tips for what women can do to ensure a smooth and successful recovery period.
- Make sure your surgery is performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon and has considerable experience with your specific cosmetic procedure
- Discuss recovery in-depth during your breast surgery consultation so you’ll have a better idea of what to expect
- Walk around during the first couple days of recovery to make sure blood is flowing and prevent potential clotting
- Wear your compression garment to reduce post-surgical bruising and swelling and promote effective healing
- Follow your plastic surgeon’s post-recovery guidelines closely, especially in regards to exercise and more strenuous physical activity
- Attend follow-up appointments and communicate any potential concerns or aesthetic issues you have with your plastic surgeon
